Even in the midst of winter with frigid temperatures there is much to enjoy at the Chicago Botanic Garden. The Woodcut exhibition by Bryan Nash Gill in the Joutras Gallery in Regenstein Center is a perfect example. It is an extraordinary exhibit and I urge you to spend some time exploring these beautiful prints and watching the video of how he produces these works of art. Check out the exhibit here:

Nash talks about how making these prints is a "record of his connection" with nature, "a way to understand his place in the world and feel like he has a place in it." This resonated so deeply with me because photographing nature has always felt like a way to record my deep connection with nature. Don't miss this exhibit, and while you're there, take a tour of the Greenhouses, all in full bloom. You will soon forget it's snowing and 20 degrees outside!
