'Rosa Moondance'

This beautiful rose 'Rosa Moondance' seems a fitting tribute to my son, Alex, who is sailing his 30 foot Cape Dory "Moondance" across the Pacific with his friend Rose.  Rose and Alex left La Paz, Mexico a month ago and, after many adventures in the South Pacific, will arrive in Australia towards the end of the year.  This is Alex's second crossing of the Pacific.  He is a passionate sailor and an adventurous soul. May good winds carry him safely to Australia.

Meanwhile, back at the Garden, these African daisies greet you as you approach the Visitor's Center.

The Rose Garden is in full bloom with many varieties of roses.  I particularly love the pretty pink McCartney roses.

Veronica Romanesco cauliflower is growing in the raised beds of the Enabling Garden.  It's shell-like pattern is gorgeous!

Across the bridge on Evening Island is a beautiful spread of catmint, allium and rose bushes.

Basking in the sun are a colorful mix of poppies in the English Oak Meadow.
