The Garden is in Bloom

With temperatures in the 70's and 80's this week, new things are blooming at the Garden each day.  The Garden's website says we are 4-6 weeks ahead of schedule in the growing season.

We expect to see snowdrops this time of year and there are plenty of them.  I love this closeup of this perfect little snowdrop.

The Whitespire birches in the Sensory Garden woods are a beautiful backdrop to the blue blanket of Harmony iris.

I found more 'Harmony' iris in the Bulb Garden, this one growing right up against the construction fence.

The most unusual and beautiful iris is this 'Katherine Hodgkin' iris, with it's ethereal blue pattern, growing in the Rock Garden.

Some 'Early Harvest' tulips are blooming in the Bulb Garden.

Crocuses are popping up all over.  This pair was one of many clusters carpeting the grassy hill on Evening Island.
